Prevocational Training Council (PvTC)

What is the purpose of the Prevocational Training Council (PvTC)?

The role of the Prevocational Training Council is to ensure State –wide coordination of the prevocational training networks and develop resources which will improve prevocational training in NSW. The Council also provides expert advice to NSW IMET and NSW Health on prevocational matters and relevant issues.

Who are the members of PvTC? 

Membership of the PvTC includes representatives from the following groups, all helping to improve training and education:

  • Directors of Prevocational Education and Training (DPETs)
  • Directors of Medical Services
  • Area Health Service representatives
  • JMO Managers
  • Medical Administrators
  • Prevocational Trainees
  • University Deans and Faculty Heads

Chair: Dr Roslyn Crampton
Deputy Chair: Dr Martin Mackertich

The PvTC have identified four priority areas for 2009:

  1. Network Support and Management
  2. Education and Training
  3. Supervision
  4. Trainee Support
