What are the pre-survey steps for facilities?
 
The following steps have been designed to assist facilities to prepare for an IMET accreditation survey.

Step 1 – Complete a self-assessment by using the “Standards for Education Training and Supervision for Prevocational Trainees and Post AMC Supervised Training” click here

Complete all facility sections with in the document.  Any section not completed will delay the survey process. When completing the self-assessment please note the additional information required by the surveyors during their visit.

You must answer all questions within the text of the document.

Step 2 - Collect and collate required documents below.

It is also a requirement that all of the documents listed below be supplied in hard copy and electronically. 
 
1. A copy of the “Standards for Education Training and Supervision for Prevocational Trainees and Post AMC Supervised Training”, with all hospital sections completed
2. Draft survey timetable click here
3. Individual signed term descriptions for all accredited Prevocational Trainee Terms using the approved “Term Description Template” click here
4. Any other information given to Prevocational Trainees before they start in specific terms.
5. Minutes of the three most recent General Clinical Training Committee meetings
6. Minutes of the three most recent Network Committee meetings
7. Current rosters
8. Term rotations for all Prevocational Trainees
9. Education program
10. Orientation program
11. Hospital grievance procedures
12. Prevocational Trainee Handbook
13. A copy of the administrative structure of the hospital (organisational chart)
14. Map of the Hospital

Step 3 - Send information to IMET

Send the hard and electronic copies  of the listed documents no later than 6 weeks prior to your survey.  Delays in IMET receiving the required information can cause a setback in your survey date, resulting in your accreditation lapsing.  Please send the information to –
